Strategic Fuels Plan for the Lower Clear Creek Watershed

This plan identifies actions needed to minimize damage resulting from wildfires in the Lower Clear Creek Watershed.  The plan describes the present condition of the watershed in reference to fuels, trends, and likely future conditions.  It also contains recommendations for projects that will improve the present condition, i.e. shaded fuelbreaks, defensible space, and fuel modifications.  The plan is also available at the office of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, 1000 W Cypress Avenue, Redding, CA  96001.  Prepared by the Western Shasta RCD with funding from CDF, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and California Department of Fish and Game.  Includes 7 maps. 

Erosion and Sediment Control Standards Design Manual

This manual provides minimum standards for erosion and sediment control from land disturbing activities associated with urban development within Shasta County. Sections include site preparation standards (wet weather, buffer strips, land grading, topsoiling), vegetative stabilization standards (temporary and permanent seeding and mulching, hydroseeding), runoff control standards (temporary dike, swale, rock lined channel, riprap, slope drain, waterbars, rolling dips, energy dissipator), and sediment control standards (temporary sediment basin, sediment traps, straw bale dike and sediment barrier, rock, log and straw bale check dams, silt fence). Upper Clear Creek Watershed Analysis

Lower Clear Creek Watershed Management Plan

This watershed management plan was developed by the Lower Clear Creek CRMP (Coordindated Resource Management Plan Group). The CRMP was comprised of landowners, stakeholders, and government agency representatives. The goals of the management plan encompass natural resource issues, social issues, information and education issues. This report details how the action items were resolved and lists stewardship projects which can be done in the future with a high probability of success.
