Castle Crags Root Creek (39-06)

The goal of this project is to implement fuels reduction within the Root Creek drainage to protect visitors, adjacent property and forest health. Also includes establishment of an access road that will facilitate costly and effective fuels reduction practices as well as provide emergency access for visitors at Vista Point.

The project started in Fall 2018 and is expected to continue through Spring of 2020. This project is a partnership with the California State Parks, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, CA Department of Water Resources, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Project components include:

  • Designs for culvert replacement across Root Creek.
