The Defensible Space Readiness Program is designed to assist eligible property owners with residences on the property who have failed the new Shasta County defensible space inspection and received a violation notice. 

This program is designed for low-income, disabled, elderly, and veteran Shasta County property owners who:

• Have failed their county defensible space inspection and received a violation notice
• Live in unincorporated high fire hazard or wildland-urban interface (WUI) areas
• Face physical, financial, or access barriers AND
• Have a residence on the property

If you qualify for the grant, Western Shasta Resource Conservation District (WSRCD) sends licensed, trained crews to complete the work for you.
